The Turlock High School Science Olympiad team qualified for the Northern California finals after coming in second place in the regional competition on March 11. The THS team took first place in four events at the regional competition — Cell Biology, Dynamic Planet, Experimental Design, and Forestry — and placed in eight other ones. The Pitman High Science Olympiad team placed first in the Scrambler event and placed in the top five of 14 other events. The first place overall high school team was from Gregori High School.
